The final week of May is upon us and we are getting ready to welcome more students back into our school! I will be trying to keep our library learning commons website up-to-date with new stories and learning activities, plus the chess puzzle of the week on an on-going basis. This week the grade 4-7s will find a wonderful non-fiction story about a wolf and his position in his pack, surviving the extreme conditions on Ellesmere Island. The grade 2-3's will discover a classic, award winning story about a family of ducks living in the city of Boston, and the Ks and grade 1s will meet a little fish who uses his intelligence to help others survive the dangers of the deep sea.

It seem incredible that we're already half way through the month of May! It was wonderful to see so many families driving through our bus loop parade to have a wave and say hello from a safe distance on Thursday!
I have updated our website with new stories for all the different grade groups as well as a new chess puzzle of the week. The Ks and Grade 1s will find "Rooster's Off to See the World", the Grade 2s and 3s will meet some new "Friends", and the Grade 4, 5, 6, and 7s will be entertained by an exciting and hilarious adventure, "It Was a Dark and Stormy Night". Red Cedar Readers will find the list of nominated books on our Red Cedar page to help them remember the title they want to vote for. Please get your votes to me through the contact page as soon as possible! I hope you are all keeping well and that you have been making the most of your time at home. This week's offerings on our Literacy Links page include The New Baby Calf for the K/1s, The Wonderful Pigs of Jillian Jiggs for the 2/3s, Cindy Ellen for the grade 4/5s, and The Three Questions for the grade 6/7s. I hope you enjoy and if you'd like to send me some feedback or suggestions, please use the contact page on this website. RED CEDAR readers... don't forget to send me your votes!!
