We are entering our final month of what has been a very different school year! We will be welcoming a portion of our students back to campus for classes on some days of the week, and as I said in my last post, I will be endeavouring to keep the Library Learning Commons website updated on a weekly basis, especially for the students and families who are continuing their learning at home. The library is closed for book exchange for the rest of the year, but teachers can still access books for their classrooms until June 25th, when all library materials should be returned.
This week on our Literacy Links pages, you will find Michelle Obama sharing a lovely story called Miss Maple's Seeds on the K/1 page, Chris Pine is reading Clark the Shark for the grade 2/3s, Sean Astin (Sam in Lord of the Rings) is reading A Bad Case of Stripes for the grade 4/5s, and the grade 6/7s have a link to I Value Canadian, some wonderful podcasts by Canadian authors for children and young adults (including Eric Walters, Monique Gray Smith, Susin Nielsen, among others) talking about their inspiration and creative process along with their ideas about the Canadian experience. Enjoy!!
